BEIJING-SHANGHAI-BOSTON (BSB)
ORTHOPEDIC EDUCATION AND RESEARCH INITIATIVE
The Tissue Engineering Laboratories have participated with the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the following institutions in China to establish the BSB Orthopaedic Education and Research Initiative. Drs. Spector and Hsu serve as the representatives of the VA and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Goals of the BSB
The goals of the BSB are to:
a) to advance education and training programs in orthopedic surgery in China,
b) to facilitate the exchange of students, fellows, and faculty among the participating institutions, and
c) to facilitate the exchange of ideas and advice regarding laboratory and clinical research and to facilitate the development of research facilities at the Chinese hospitals.

Symposia
The BSB organized two Continuing Medical Education Symposia: in Beijing, September 17-19, 1997, and Shanghai, March 20-22, 1999. Plans are proceeding for the organization of the 3 rd Symposium of the Fall of 2006.
